One of the most anticipated days of my life finally happened...I got my classroom keys today!  I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl, so this day has been one that I have dreamed of basically my whole life!  As all of the current teachers were moving their things out and leaving for summer break, I was happily hauling my things into my classroom!  I will be teaching kindergarten and this classroom has been a fourth grade classroom for the past year.  It definitely needs some color and "livening up"!  The current teacher has not moved all of her stuff out yet, so excuse the chairs, desks, and piles of stuff in the floor in the pictures.

There are several things that I love about this classroom.  First off, it has two bathrooms and a sink in it!  Bathroom breaks can turn into the longest, most drawn out times of the day.  I think that having the bathrooms in the classroom will eliminate a lot of wasted time - as soon as I figure out a good way to manage the bathroom usage!  Second, I have three, good sized whiteboards and three bulletin boards.  Third, I think that the overall size of the room is pretty big compared to rooms that I have seen and I can see potential all in this room!  Here are some pictures of what the room looked like the moment I stepped in the door, so keep in mind these are definitely BEFORE pictures :)

Lots of storage in the wall full of cabinets!  Plus, I think the counter is nice to have!

The bathrooms are through that little door opening.

And here is an extremely happy, excited, and seven months pregnant first year teacher!

Let the transformation begin!!!
